Carl's 8th Birthday

Here's Carl this morning, his 8th birthday.  Carl is doing great; healthy, happy and the boss of us.

Snake

Snake season has arrived in SoCal.  This morning's above pic is at the kitchen corner of our house.  Yesterday I found Carl all animated about a larger, different kind of snake, who was scurrying across the gravel into the golf car garage.  Time to pack up and head back to Pendaries for the season; where we are on the lookout for bears, elk, foxes, wild turkeys, mountain lions, chipmunks; not so much snakes.

Carl and Mole

Essential hunter Carl rids us of another mole.  Carl was not feeling well today but made time to go outside for a successful hunt.  Carl brought us a lizard yesterday and later came in from the porch licking his lips from eating a moth, we think.  Lizards and moths always upset his stomach. Carl is currently out on the porch under the Jeep seat still not feeling well.

Golf at Diamond Valley

Here's Jim at our local SoCal golf course yesterday.  It was a beautiful day for golf.  Note snow capped Big Bear mountain in the background.

Carl, the Essential Hunter

Carl got a young rabbit this morning.  Also pictured, from earlier this week, is Jim with patriarch Joe Hart and son Jim of Hart Winery, one of our frequent haunts.

Last night we had a light snow and ice dusting that stayed around this morning.
