Morning Walks with Carl

Winter on its way

A few days ago our mountains-in-view got their first coat of snow. Yeah! Yesterday we enjoyed what's possibly our last outdoor outing at the 19th Hole and first wood stove fire of the season. Monday our generator arrives so come on winter.

Our Little Girl Deer; Total Gym

We have a new family member.  Our little girl deer arrives every morning and spends the day under our porch escaping the full sun.  Carl and deer stare at each other through the porch slats.  And, see our new Total Gym.  Pretty soon we will be looking like Chuck Norris and Christie Brinkley.

Chipmunk

Here's Carl in our screened-in porch.  The chipmunks have taken over.  Chipmunks are prolific and giant sized here.  We are so proud of Carl,

Wild Hail Storm

Calving

I watched this cow give birth in the pasture adjoining Pendaries Village.  This is the birthing season.  We drive through this pasture to get out in and out of Pendaries and enjoy seeing hundreds of cows.

Snow

We've had some gorgeous snow falls since moving into our new house on March 2021; during turkey mating season!  See Joellen shoveling 2 feet deep snow.

J&J Covid Vaccine

On April 5th, 2021 we headed to our local Walmart (where the lighting is so flattering) and got our one-shot Covid vaccine.  Joellen had no reaction but Jim suffered real flu like symptoms for about a day.

Opening Day Pendaries Golf

Here's Jim with his new haircut, new pants, and favorite shirt; then driving away in our golf car outfitted with new batteries and cables.  As usual, Jim got the first tee time of the season and played a good game on the front 9.  Only the front 9 are open for another 2 weeks.

Carl's 10th Birthday

Last Thursday 4/29/21 happy cat Carl attained age 10.  Carl is enjoying his new house esp. being able to come and go at will (weather permitting) to the screened-in porch.  Carl spent his first 10 years of life being dragged around in our motorhome where he became the essential hunter.  Going forward, we are thinking Carl will become an indoor cat all the time as he's got great views, lots of stairs and room to run around inside.

Moving to the East Side

About 7 weeks ago we moved from our Pendaries RV site to Pendaries Village's East side to our deluxe treehouse in the sky.
